Every tab, and what it does
The menus are yours to arrange. Drag any group to either side from User Interface.
General
- Index
- Where you land. The welcome and the news.
- Themes
- Puts the game in one of the old Dark Future layouts. Pick one from the list on the User Interface page and the whole game changes to it, for you and nobody else. Everybody starts in late teal, the 2010 look.
- News
- What changed and when.
- Suggestions & bugs
- Tell me what is broken. I read them.
- Manual
- This page. Every number on it is read out of the code, so what it says is what the game is doing.
- Discord
- The server, off site.
- Polls
- Questions staff put to the players. One answer each, and you see how it is going once you have answered.
Account
- Profile
- Your own page. Other players see this one.
- Service Record
- Your service and rank ladder, story Acts, your Titles and your Achievements, all behind one row. When something in there is ready the row goes green and says which one. Titles: All 204 of them, and which you are wearing. Every set has a look of its own, and the colour says how hard the title was: grey, green, blue, purple, gold, then red for the last one in the set. Gold and red carry the crest of the set. They open at rank 5. Achievements: 382 of them in 14 groups. Every one reads something the game already counts, so everything you have done so far already counts towards them. Open the tab and you get paid for whatever you have passed.
- Settings
- Your account and your avatar. Changing anything other people see of you, your portrait, message icon, home city, signature or gender, asks for your password first. Suicide is at the bottom, behind your password. It kills your character for good and nothing comes to a new account. The avatar box is 180 by 225 pixels, so 800 by 1000 fits it. Profile details is where you change your password - it asks for the one you have now, because being logged in is not the same as being you - and where you confirm your email address or move it to another one. A new address does not take over until the link sent to it is opened, so the one you have stays yours until you prove the new one. That is also what makes Forgot password on the login page work: a reset link only ever goes to an address somebody has confirmed, so confirming yours is what lets you get back in on your own if you ever forget it. Changing your password signs out everything else that was signed in to your account. Profile signature is a box that goes at the bottom of your profile for anyone who opens it, up to 3,000 characters, with codes under it for bold, colour, size, a picture of your own by its https address and a YouTube video that plays on your page. Nothing else you type in it becomes anything but words. Bring a friend is your own link, under Where you are from. Anybody who signs up through it pays you as they rank up, £2,000,000 at rank 10, £5,000,000 at rank 15, £7,000,000 and 10 tokens at rank 20. They get tokens of their own, 10 at rank 5 with a 3 day profile upgrade and 20 at rank 20. Nothing is paid for the signup, and somebody signing up from your own connection does not count.
- User Interface
- How the menus sit, what moves, and what goes in your phone bars. Up to twelve in the strip at the top and four along the bottom with Chat in the middle, or leave them on the game layout.
- Characters
- Every character you have been before this one, how far each got and how it ended.
- Education
- Ten degrees you pay for in money and time. Every course pays something when it finishes, and finishing all ten of a degree leaves you with a perk you keep for good.
Messaging
- Messages, one player to another. Mass message, lower down the page, sends one to up to 5 players at once. Press Save on a message and it goes in your Savebox at the bottom of the page. Above it, your Outbox keeps the last 30 you sent; older ones drop off, so save the ones that matter.
Events
- Events
- Everything the game did while you were away.
- Crew Events
- The same, for your crew.
Users
- Buddy List
- The people you keep track of and the people you have blocked, on two tabs. Neither list is told about it. You can also send one friend a gift a day - it costs you nothing, they get a minute of what they make in an hour, and nobody can be given more than 3 a day however many people send them one.
- In City
- Who else is standing where you are standing. You can only kill somebody in the same city as you, so this is the list that decides who is reachable. Look at somebody to find out which city they went to.
- In Jail
- Where you sit when the police get you. You can wait it out, go over the wall, or somebody else can bust you out. Everybody in there is on the same page, so you can see who else is sitting. If staff put you in there for scripting, none of that works and the door opens when they open it.
- Search
- Type part of a name and it lists everybody with that in their name, up to 25, with their rank and whether they are still alive. It never says where anybody is.
Information
- Crews
- Every crew: its picture, building, the share of members' earnings it takes, how full it is, where it is from and how rich it is.
- Last Registered
- The last twenty people to sign up, newest first.
- Last Killed
- Everyone who got killed, newest first, with who did it, when, and what was taken off them. Nobody comes back, so its the only place their name still shows.
- Statistics
- Every total the game has done since the wipe, added up when you open it: crimes, XP, OCs, kills, jail, the casino wagered and returned with each machine on its own, and the rest. Nobody is named on it, and staff accounts are not counted in it.
- View Rankings
- Where everybody stands. Every row shows the rank name, level, contract kills and race wins. Pick the board at the top and that column lights up and sets the order, twenty a page, with your own row up top and a button that finds you in the list. On a phone the other figures sit in a line under the name. Friends shows just the people on your friends list, keeping the place they hold among everybody. Crews have their own list under it.
- Hall of Fame
- The best at everything from every version of the game that has ended. A board for each thing, top twenty on each, kept for good. The game is wiped at the end of a version and this is what stays.
- Isolation
- Staff only: who has been on longest over the last two days, and the button that puts somebody aside for a while.
Travel
- Travel
- The 11 cities, what is in each, and where you fly from. Where you are standing decides which boss you can go after and which crimes pay best. Hawaii is on there too: a holiday of 1, 2, 3, 7 or 14 days. Nobody can touch you while you are there, you cannot log in until it is over, and then you are back in your home city.
- Vehicles
- What you travel in. Each one has its own trip time, fuel and how much cargo it carries, and the top four are for crew leaders only. Buy a new one and you get 70% of what your old one costs in the shop back. You can sell yours for that too, and you are back on Flip-flops.
- Garage
- The cars you have stolen, and where you sell them.
Money
- Bank
- Put cash somewhere nobody can take it.
- Tokens
- You buy them on
the Tokens page with a card, 40 for £3, 200 for £10 or 1000 for £45.
You earn them by playing too. Every rank you go up pays 1.
Selling stocks pays them when you sell a full holding, as many shares as your rank lets you hold,
all at once at a profit of more than 40% for 1, 60% for 2, 80% for 3, 90% for 4 or 100% for 6.
Bring a friend pays them as well, and you can buy them off other players on the market for cash. What they buy:
- Profile upgrade, 20 tokens for 10 days or 55 for 30. It gives you the stats bar and you pick which rows of your profile other players can see. Your name, safety and whether you are alive always show. It holds 60 days at most.
- Rank/XP bar, 20 tokens the first time and 10 after. It belongs to the character, so if you die you lose it.
- Tokens for a friend, 100 or 500.
- Change your name, 500 tokens.
- Gold profile, 5 tokens for 10 days. A picture 500 by 200 or wider across the top of your profile, with your crew picture big under it, in place of the small ones. The Tokens page switches it back to the normal look and back again.
- Cash-in, 50 tokens for 2 hours of what crimes pay at your rank, or 240 for 10 hours. Paid in cash, so bank it.
Earn, and this is where the money is
- Crimes
- 10 of them. Bigger ones pay more and make you wait longer. Every city has its own names for them, the pay is the same wherever you are.
- Trade
- Buy goods where they are cheap, fly them somewhere they are not, and sell. Every city has its own price for each of the 19 goods and they never change, so finding the best two cities is the whole trick. Three goods are open from rank 1 and one more opens every two ranks after, up to Confidential Documents at rank 33. Anything you are holding you can always sell. Your vehicle decides how much you carry, and you cant change vehicle with a load on.
- Stock Markets
- 12 companies, and prices move every 20 minutes. Open a company to read its news: good news and the price tends to climb over the next hour or so, bad news and it tends to fall. It is never certain. Buy low. The board shows what you are up or down on each one you hold, how many you hold, and which way each is leaning. Pricey means it is well over its usual price and tends to get pulled back down, cheap means well under. What you hold sits under the clock, up or down on what you paid.
- Actions
- One screen with three tabs on it, each on its own timer, so you can do all three without waiting on one another. Search the Streets is free and turns up money, goods, car keys and the occasional mugging. GTA steals cars into your garage to sell when you want. The Agency opens at rank 12 and is contracts on other players, which earn titles. The row in the menu says how many of the three are ready, or names the next one coming back.
- OC
- Unlocks at rank 6. Organised Crime with other players, see Crews and OC. Anything a rank unlocks stays unlocked once you have reached it, retiring does not shut it again.
- Private Collection
- Unlocks at rank 14. 14 cars under sheets in a lock up that somebody else owns. Lift a sheet and you might drive one home, and they are the cars StreetRace wants. One go, then a wait, and the clock is on the row.
Gambling
- Russian Roulette
- One price and one pull, an hour of what your crimes pay. Five times in six you win a lot. The sixth kills your character, for good.
- Blackjack
- Six decks, pays 3 to 2, and the dealer stands on 17.
- Guess a Number
- Back up to nine of the numbers 1 to 10 and one is drawn. The more you back, the less it pays.
- Lottery
- 4 running at once, at £500, £10,000, £100,000 and £500,000 a ticket, each drawn after an hour. You can hold up to 100 in each. The more you hold the better your chance, and whoever is drawn gets the whole pot in their bank.
- StreetRace
- Six races every two hours. Enter a collector car and its stats race it. Finishing earns upgrade points for the car.
War
- Kill
- Opens when your orange safety ends. Go after another player in the same city. Type their name, check its them, and press Kill. Its settled there and then with no luck in it at all. Win and you take everything they were carrying. Whoever you kill is finished and starts again. Miss and nobody dies, but they are told somebody tried.
- Place Reward
- Opens when your orange safety ends. Put money on somebody, and see every reward standing. Whoever finishes them collects it.
- Spy
- Opens when your orange safety ends. Pay for a report on somebody in your city before you go at them. It shows what they have on: their weapon, their armour and their cover. Nobody can be spied on in their first 24 hours.
- Pickpocket
- Opens when your orange safety ends. Take from another player without going after them.
Items
- Armor
- 13 armors to buy. Each one adds to your Defence and most take a bit off your Attack and Stealth. The shop shows all three as a percent, and 100% is no change.
- Weapons
- There are 36 items across these three rows, and you can only have one weapon, one armor and one cloak. Buy another and the one you had goes for half what you paid. Selling gives half back too. What the three do is multiplied together, so a weapon at 150% Attack with armor at 80% Attack leaves you on 120%. Your rank sets how far down each list you can buy: the first 3 at rank 1, the rest a few ranks apart, and all of them from rank 30.
- Cloaking
- 9 cloaks to buy, for Stealth. Every item has a life in hours and wears out on the clock, played or not. Once its run out it does nothing till you repair it, and the shop shows what an hour of wear costs to put back. A full repair is half what the item cost.
- Items
- Unlocks at rank 14. Things you are holding. Every one is used once and gone, and the name says what it does. The number on the menu row is how many you have.
- Vehicle Upgrades
- Parts for your rare rides. Not a tab of its own - the buttons are on the car, on StreetRace.
Forums
- Forums
- Boards, threads and replies. The slower half of
talking to people, where the chat bar is the fast half. No outside
links in the global chat - the games own address and the Discord
are fine, anything else is refused. The codes from your signature
work in posts and mail too, and so do Name for a link
to a player and
for quoting them. Recent Threads at the
top of the page is every thread you started or posted in.
- GIFs. Hit the GIF button in the global or crew chat, search, and tap one to send it. Anything you typed goes with it. Pasting a Giphy or Tenor link works too. Links from anywhere else still dont.
- Tag someone. Put @ in front of their name in the chat and they get an event saying you did, and the line lights up for them. Type @ and the first letters and a list of names comes up. The smiley face next to send is the emoji.
- React. The little plus at the end of any line in the global or crew chat lets you give it a thumbs up, a laugh, love, upset or a cry. Press the same one again to take it back.
- Chat commands. Type /help in the global chat and it lists them, just to you. The games put a line in the room with buttons on it, and whoever clicks first plays you: /rps rock (or paper, or scissors), /dice, /coin heads (or tails) and /shoot, six shots each. Nothing is on those.
- /2cards 5m puts your cash on the line, up to £ 10,000,000 and from £ 1,000. It comes off you the moment you post it. Whoever takes the bet puts up the same, both of you draw two cards, and the higher hand takes the lot. Level hands and you both get yours back. One game open at a time, cancel it from its line, and a bet nobody takes for 10 minutes comes back to you.
- /lastfight, /rank, /roll 100, /8ball question and /me does something tell the room. /online tells only you who is about.
- Crew Forum
- A board for your crew alone, there once you are in one. Nobody outside the crew can read it. Whoever has the Crew forum right can lock and pin its threads. OOC is the board for talking about the game rather than in it, and Investigation is where rewards and events for sale go.
Crew
- Crew Profile, Invite, Crew OCs, Crew Perks
- Only there once you are in a crew. See Crews and OC in this guide.
- Buildings, The Pot
- The building your crew is in and its debt, and the pot with the tax. Everybody in a crew has them.
- Mass Message, Killed Members
- A message to the whole crew, and the members who died while in it. Only there if you have the right for it.
